On September 17, in Hanoi, the Central Internal Affairs Commission held a press conference to announce the results of the meeting on the same day of the Standing Committee of the Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness, and Negative Phenomena (Steering Committee).
Presiding over the press conference, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Dang Van Dung said that the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee held a meeting under the chairmanship of General Secretary, President To Lam, Head of the Steering Committee, to discuss and give opinions on the results of the Steering Committee's work program in 2026 and the Steering Committee's conclusions.
Since the 30th Meeting of the Steering Committee (June 18, 2026) to date, Party committees, Party organizations, functional agencies and members of the Steering Committee have directed the serious implementation of the tasks assigned by the Steering Committee and the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee, achieving many positive results.
One of the outstanding results is that the Steering Committee has monitored and directed 20 cases, 6 cases; the progress of investigation and handling is basically ensured according to the plan. In which, 27 additional defendants have been prosecuted in 4 cases; investigation conclusions in 5 cases/41 defendants; indictment issued prosecuting 3 cases/68 defendants; first-instance trial of 3 cases/7 defendants and appellate trial of 3 cases/14 defendants.
Investigation agencies in the People's Police have discovered and newly prosecuted a number of particularly serious and complex corruption and negativity cases, which are of public concern and occur in some sensitive areas, related to the interests of people and businesses.
Typically, the case occurred at Viet My Medical Investment Joint Stock Company and some cases occurred in the fields of education, agriculture, and fisheries.
Party committees and inspection committees at all levels have proposed and disciplined 27 party organizations and 900 party members, including 6 cadres under central management.
The Government Inspectorate focuses on inspecting specialized topics as required by the Steering Committee and prominent areas that are of public concern and easily lead to corruption, wastefulness, and negativity.
Through inspection, many violations were discovered, proposing to recover 331.6 billion VND and 176 hectares of land; proposing administrative handling of 1,577 collectives and 2,485 individuals; transferring 38 cases with signs of crime to the investigating agency for investigation and handling according to regulations.
The Supreme People's Court has presided over and coordinated with relevant agencies to focus on removing difficulties and obstacles in recovering assets related to the cases of Tran Phuong Binh, Hua Thi Phan, Pham Cong Danh and Van Thinh Phat. Prosecuting agencies pay attention to encouraging subjects to voluntarily hand over assets and remedy consequences and damages.
The Civil Judgment Enforcement Agency has recovered more than 1,000 billion VND in cases and incidents under the supervision and direction of the Steering Committee.
