According to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, by 7pm, vehicles traveling through Quoc Huong, Thao Dien, Nguyen Van Huong, Xuan Thuy... routes encountered many difficulties.
This area is crowded with foreigners and high-income people, so it is also known as the "rich people's street". However, every time heavy rain occurs, this area is often deeply flooded.

On Quoc Huong Street, many sections were flooded deeper than half a motorbike wheel, causing a series of vehicles to stall in the water. People have to walk in the rain, the car repair shops are crowded with customers.

Some stores have temporarily suspended operations because water has flooded inside, damaging goods.
Many people also said that they were stuck here for about an hour due to severe flooding and could not move. Some people had to squeeze onto the sidewalk waiting for the water to recede, while others chose to turn around to find a way around, causing more traffic in the area.

Mr. Tran Quoc Minh (residing in An Khanh ward) said: "I drove to Quoc Huong section when the water was almost up to the saddle. My vehicle broke down and had to take nearly 200 meters to find a dry place to put on the side of the road to wait for the water to be drained to repair. I have been waiting here for more than an hour, every time it rains heavily, this section is flooded, making it very miserable to travel.
According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, the reason for the prolonged thunderstorms on the afternoon of October 8 was due to the low pressure trough with an axis through the South Central - South region, the wind convergence existing right in the South, and the wind convergence area in the eastern sea area was also active. The southwest wind in the South is weak. Above, the subtropical high pressure will encroach to the West.
