HCMC studies investment in 18 road traffic routes connecting to Dong Nai province

Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai are studying investment in 18 routes connecting road traffic, of which 14 routes have been planned.

On November 3, according to information from the People's Committee of Dong Nai province, the two localities of Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City are currently studying investment in 18 connecting traffic routes. Of which, 14 routes are in the planning of the two localities and 4 routes are not in the planning.

The routes included in the planning of the two localities include: National Highway 51C; National Highway 56B; Cat Lai Bridge; Long Hung Bridge (Dong Nai 2); Phu My 2 Bridge; Hieu Liem 2 Bridge on National Highway 56B; Tan An Bridge; Thanh Hoi 2 Bridge; Tan Hien Bridge; new connecting axis from Go Cong to the South through Can Gio International Transit Port connecting Phuoc An Port and connecting Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway; Provincial Road DT 748 connecting Dau Tieng with Minh Hung Ward; Provincial Road DT 748B connecting Bau Bang with Chon Thanh Ward; Provincial Road DT 748 C connecting Bau Bang with Chon Thanh to Hoa Lu; Provincial Road DT 750F.

The routes not yet included in the planning of Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City are: Phu Rieng - Dong Xoai - Dong Phu; Nha Bich Bridge (location 1), Nha Bich Bridge (location 2); The old provincial road DT 995C on the Ba Ria - Vung Tau side has a plan (scale of 6 lanes), Dong Nai side needs to add a plan to directly connect to DT 773B route to help synchronously connect the entire route and connect with Long Thanh international airport.

According to the People's Committee of Dong Nai province, the current status of connecting transport infrastructure between Dong Nai province and Ho Chi Minh City is based on the planning of the railway network in the area including railways, roads, and waterways.

Regarding railways, there are 5 connecting railway lines, including 2 urban railways and 3 national railways.

Regarding roads, there are about 45 connecting locations (Ring, expressway, national highway, main road, provincial road) connecting traffic between the two localities. Of which, there are 14 existing connecting routes, 13 connecting routes under investment and 18 connecting routes that have not yet been invested.

Waterways also include waterways and 12 cross-river passenger wharves connecting traffic between the two localities.

Regarding public passenger transport and fixed routes: Currently, to meet the travel needs of passengers between Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai province, there are 118 vehicles operating on 9 inter-provincial bus routes, with 504 trips/day and 79 inter-provincial bus routes connecting and operating with a stable number of passengers.
