On September 22, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction issued a notice on adjusting traffic organization at the Saigon River crossing tunnel (Thu Thiem tunnel) to serve the practice of fire fighting, rescue and relief solutions in 2025.
The Saigon River Tunnel will temporarily stop circulating in both directions from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on September 23, 24 and 26, 2025.
During the above time, vehicles can move in the following direction of traffic flow:
Directions from Saigon Ward to An Khanh Ward: Vo Van Kiet → parallel road Vo Van Kiet → Vo Van Kiet → Ton Duc Thang → Ba Son Bridge → R12 Street → To Huu → Mai Chi Tho.
Directions from An Khanh ward to Saigon ward: Mai Chi Tho → To Huu → R12 road → Ba Son → Le Duan → Nam Ky Khoi Nghia → Vo Van Kiet.
The Department of Construction also assigned the Urban Traffic Management and Operation Center to install banners and signs to help people easily recognize and proactively choose a suitable route, avoiding congestion during the drill period.
Firefighting and rescue drills at the Saigon River crossing tunnel are a periodic work to ensure traffic safety and improve emergency response capacity at one of the key traffic projects in Ho Chi Minh City.
