On May 29, the Traffic Police Department (PC08) of Ho Chi Minh City Police said that the unit is drastically implementing measures to handle violations of stopping and parking vehicles not in accordance with regulations according to the 45-day and night peak plan of the City Police.
Accordingly, from May 1 to May 28, 2026, the traffic police force discovered and made records of fining 21,755 cases of violations related to illegal parking and stopping.
Among these, through direct patrol and control, functional forces handled 11,336 cases, including 835 passenger cars, 2,763 trucks, 5,159 cars and 2,579 motorbikes and mopeds.
In addition, through the camera monitoring and image recording system, functional forces have notified cold fines for 10,419 violations.
According to PC08 Department, through records, the situation of illegal parking still occurs on many roads, especially in market areas, schools, hospitals, commercial centers... causing traffic obstruction, narrowing the road surface and increasing the risk of congestion and traffic accidents.
The Traffic Police Department said it will continue to strengthen mobile patrols, focusing on handling violations on routes and areas that frequently occur; at the same time, promote the application of surveillance camera systems to promptly detect and strictly handle violations.
Functional forces recommend that people strictly comply with regulations on stopping and parking; do not stop or park in places with no-parking signs, on bridges, near intersections, areas that obscure visibility or cause traffic obstruction.
