According to initial information, at about 10:30 am on the same day, Chieng Khoong Commune Police, Son La province received a report from Mr. Song A Tenh, residing in Sai Khao village, Chieng Khoong commune, about his daughter, baby T.T. D (born 2024), falling into the Nam Soi stream.
At the time of the incident, the family took the child to the Pung Ma area, Sai Khao village to farm. Child D stayed in the shack with her older sister. While adults were not paying attention, the child crawled out to the streamside area to play and unfortunately fell into the water.
Immediately after receiving the news, Chieng Khoong Commune Police reported to the Party Committee and local authorities, and at the same time mobilized forces to coordinate with the Fire and Rescue Police Team of Area 6, Muong Cai Border Guard Station and local people to organize searches.
At about 3:10 pm on the same day, functional forces discovered the baby's body in the Nam Soi hydropower lake area, about 3km from the scene of the incident.
After completing the procedures according to regulations, the victim's body was handed over to the family for burial according to local customs.
