According to information from the Hanoi Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (DOLISA), since the beginning of the year, it has paid a total of more than VND 1,326 billion to 203,000 beneficiaries of monthly social benefits.
Currently, social assistance facilities in Hanoi provide care and support for 3,016 social protection beneficiaries, including lonely elderly people, people with disabilities, children without support, and other protection beneficiaries.
Since the beginning of the year, Hanoi has provided emergency support to 38 families with a total amount of over VND865 million. Of which, VND650 million was provided to the families of 25 victims who died in fires and landslides; VND184 million was provided to 8 victims injured in fires and VND31 million was provided to 7 victims injured in violence, sexual assault and traffic accidents.
The representative of the Hanoi Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs also said that in the last months of the year, they will continue to urge and guide districts, towns and cities to implement policies and solutions to reduce poverty, striving to exceed the plan to reduce 380 poor households.
Continue to deploy the work of concentrating homeless people; fully and promptly implement social assistance policies, policies for the elderly, people with disabilities and social protection beneficiaries, advise to effectively carry out emergency support work...
Poverty reduction and social protection work has achieved positive results. Currently, 19/30 districts in Hanoi have no poor households, of which 5 districts have no near-poor households.
