In early July, Lao Dong Newspaper's reporter in Bao Thang commune, Lao Cai province, standing from Pho Lu bridge, looking out in the distance, can easily see the old Bao Thang district administrative headquarters in shape after about 2 years of construction.
According to local people, the old headquarters of the district was built many years ago, so it was degraded and damaged, not meeting the working needs of cadres, civil servants and serving the needs of the people. Therefore, new construction is necessary.

Through research, the headquarters of the new administrative center of the old Bao Thang district was built in Pho Lu town, on the foundation of the old headquarters.
The architectural scale of the office is 15 stories high, with 3 floors of the base and 12 floors of the tower, the construction area is 3,370m2, the total floor area is 13,591m2. The investment cost of the project is 200 billion VND, with the Bao Thang District Investment and Construction Project Management Board as the investor's representative.
The project is undertaken by a joint venture of Dong A Import-Export Production Joint Stock Company, 19-18 Construction Company Limited, Hong River Electromechanical Construction and Installation Joint Stock Company and Tinh Tho - Dys mid-diseasectrification Company Limited.
The project uses modern materials and lines in line with the world's development trend.

The 15-storey tower block is the workplace of functional departments and offices. The 3-storey base block has a 500-seat hall and reception and traditional rooms... The 5-storey guest house and dining block includes a service area, dining room and about 30 rooms.

At the time of recording, at the construction site, workers were carrying out construction activities and transporting materials to the project's floors. The construction of the building is still being carried out.
"If this new headquarters had not been completed in time, Bao Thang district would no longer exist. The province previously stopped for a while to wait for the merger, but now they are completing the construction. We also hope that, although there are no more districts, when completed, the service to people will be better, people only need to go to one place instead of having to run to many different locations to resolve procedures. This helps save time and costs, said Ms. Bui Thi Van (residing in Bao Thang commune, Lao Cai province).

It is known that the construction unit is speeding up the construction process, trying to complete it by 2025.
On July 2, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Trung Thanh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Bao Thang Commune, Lao Cai Province said: "After removing the district level, this administrative center will be transferred to the commune for use. Currently, we are waiting for the contractor to finish the construction to move back to work.
According to Mr. Thanh, the number of human resources in the commune is not large, and even the large headquarters cannot be used up. Therefore, the locality will renovate them to suit the needs and functions of departments and branches and then invite them to use them to make the most of this complex.
