According to the People's Committee of Binh Duong province, Thu Dau Mot ward was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of Phu Tho, Chanh Nghia, Phu Cuong wards, Chanh Loc 1, 2, 7 quarters of Chanh My ward and quarters 1, 2, 3, 4 of Hiep Thanh ward.
Thu Dau Mot ward after the arrangement has a natural area of 15.682 km2, population of 88,132 people (reaching 195.85% compared to regulations).
Recently, Thu Dau Mot ward has reviewed and rearranged equipment and facilities, working headquarters for cadres and civil servants working in departments and units; Synchronized data to use a shared database in the new Thu Dau Mot ward; Received and resolved all administrative procedures under the authority of the commune and district levels; Ensured effective file rotation, coordination between specialized departments and timely settlement of administrative procedures.
Regarding personnel, the Party and Fatherland Front of Thu Dau Mot Ward only have 36 people; the government has 90 people; the Military Command has 50 people, the Ward Police has 60 people. The Thu Dau Mot Ward Public Administration Service Center alone has 25 professional staff and 5 volunteers.
Regarding the headquarters, the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and the Fatherland Front of Thu Dau Mot ward are located at the current headquarters of the People's Council - People's Committee of Thu Dau Mot city. Before 2014, this was the headquarters of the People's Committee of Binh Duong province. The Thu Dau Mot Ward Public Administration Service Center is located at the Thu Dau Mot City Public Administration Service Center.

After the arrangement, there are 5 new wards in the city including: Chanh Hiep, Thu Dau Mot, Phu Loi, Phu An, Binh Duong. Thu Dau Mot ward is a key ward in Thu Dau Mot city. Binh Duong ward is a key ward of Binh Duong province.
Binh Duong ward and 4 newly established wards in Thu Dau Mot will conduct a trial operation from June 16 to the end of June 2025 and officially operate from July 1.
