On the afternoon of December 16, Ho Chi Minh City authorities found the bodies of two missing young men in Ben Ba Mai canal (Dong Thanh commune).
Initial information, in the afternoon of the same day, a group of people (including men and women) went to Ben Ba Mai canal area, near Dang Thuc Vinh street (Dong Thanh commune) to have fun.

While playing around near the canal, a young man unfortunately slipped and fell into the water, crawling. Seeing his friend in distress, another young man standing on the shore immediately jumped into the water to find a way to rescue him.
However, because the water was at that time high and the flow was strong, both students were quickly swept away by the water and went missing. Discovering the incident, people present at the scene shouted and called for help but were unsuccessful.

Upon receiving the report, Dong Thanh Commune Police quickly coordinated with the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Area 19 - Ho Chi Minh City Police and related units to mobilize vehicles, officers and soldiers to the scene to carry out diving work.
At more than 5:00 p.m. the same day, the rescue team found the bodies of the two young men.
