On August 13, Muong Thanh Ward People's Committee organized a ceremony to posthumously award the State honorary title "Vietnamese Heroic Mother" to Mother Nguyen Thi Quy, whose husband and children sacrificed for the cause of national liberation, construction and defense of the Fatherland.
Attending the ceremony were Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Phu, along with representatives of leaders of departments, branches, localities and relatives of Mother Nguyen Thi Quy's family.
Mother Nguyen Thi Quy's husband is Mr. Nguyen Van Hong, a soldier of the Vietnam People's Army, who sacrificed in the resistance war against the French colonialists, and was recognized as a martyr in 2024.
Mother's biological child is martyr Nguyen Thi Yen, who sacrificed in 1972, and was recognized as a martyr in 1973.
At the ceremony, leaders of the Department of Home Affairs announced the President's Decision on posthumously awarding the title "Vietnamese Heroic Mother" to Mother Nguyen Thi Quy and awarding Certificates of Title, Badges and commendation items to family representatives.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Phu affirmed that the posthumous awarding of the noble title is a recognition of the Party, State and People for the great sacrifices of Mother and family, deeply expressing the morality of "When drinking water, remember the source".
The comrade emphasized that the war has receded, but the losses of the families are still there.
The sacrifice of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers is a noble symbol of revolutionary heroism, a role model for today's and future generations to follow.
The Party Committee, government and people of Dien Bien province are determined to continue to promote revolutionary traditions, well implement gratitude work, and build an increasingly rich and civilized homeland.
