From September 15, defense and island protection workers will receive a subsidy of nearly 600,000 VND/day

From September 15, 2025, workers working in the field of protecting islands and coastal areas will receive nearly 600,000 VND/day in subsidies.

From September 15, 2025, workers mobilized to participate in managing and protecting defense works and military zones will receive a new subsidy regime, totaling nearly 600,000 VND/day.

Pursuant to Article 9 of Decree 213/2025/ND-CP, this regime applies to cases mobilized to overcome natural disasters, fires or handle security and order situations affecting the safety and confidentiality of defense works and military zones. According to regulations, the daily labor allowance is equal to the allowance for marine militia fighting to protect islands and coastal areas. At the same time, the meal allowance is calculated at the basic meal allowance of non-commissioned officers and infantrymen currently serving in the Vietnam People's Army.

Comparing Point b, Clause 2, Article 11 of Decree 72/2020/ND-CP, amended by Point d, Clause 4, Article 1 of Decree 16/2025/ND-CP, the current daily labor allowance for marine militia is VND 585,000 and the daily food allowance for each person is VND 234,000. However, in this case, workers are only entitled to basic food allowances equivalent to non-commissioned officers and infantrymen, so the total actual allowance is about 600,000 VND/day.

Thus, from September 15, 2025, individuals mobilized to participate in activities of managing and protecting defense works and military zones will receive a daily allowance of VND 585,000 along with food allowances according to infantry standards, contributing to ensuring the rights and encouraging the labor force to participate in this important task.
