On August 11, Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) informed about the addition of the Ring Road 3 intersection on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway managed and operated by VEC, allowing vehicles to enter this expressway at Km8 of the project.
Component project 1A of Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3, Tan Van - Nhon Trach section, invested by My Thuan Project Management Board, is being built to connect to Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway at Km8, allowing vehicles to enter this expressway.
According to the plan, the section through Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai will officially be put into operation from August 19, to celebrate the country's major holidays.

Based on the decision of the Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction) approving the financial plan to balance the cash flow of 5 expressway projects managed by VEC, the addition of the Ring Road 3 Intersection Toll Station aims to increase convenient options for vehicle owners, without incurring new costs.
The Ring Road 3 intersection with Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway is designed in the form of Trumpet, the toll station is located on Ring Road 3 with 6 lanes (3 lanes in, 3 lanes out). According to the fee collection plan, vehicles from An Phu to Long Phuoc (7 km) will collect fees as at present; vehicles from An Phu to Ring Road 3 (4 km) will apply an open station, charging a fee of 4 km.
For vehicles from Ring Road 3 to Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, the dual-stop model (open station and closed station) is applied, in which Long Phuoc Station is a transit station. Specifically, vehicles entering and leaving Ring Road 3 at the An Phu/ Ring Road 2 intersection (towards Ho Chi Minh City) are charged a fee of 4 km; vehicles entering and leaving Ring Road 3 to continue to Long Phuoc Toll Station (towards Dong Nai) are also charged a fee of 4 km (Ring Road 3 - An Phu/Ring Road 2) and also record the entrance transaction at Ring Road 3 Station, with Long Phuoc Station as a transit.

For vehicles from Dong Nai to Long Phuoc Station (HCMC), the dual-storey model will also be applied. If going straight to the Ring Road 2/An Phu intersection, the fee will be collected as at present; if turning to the Ring Road 3 Toll Station, the fee will be calculated including 1 transaction of Ring Road 3 opening station and 1 transaction of closed station to Ring Road 3.
Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) will implement the non-stop toll collection (ETC) from August 19, at the same time as putting component project 1A through Ho Chi Minh City into operation. All vehicles traveling on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway through the Ring Road 3 Intersection (section through Ho Chi Minh City) must pay service fees according to regulations, except for cases that are exempted from fees according to Decree No. 130/2024/ND-CP dated October 10, 2024 of the Government.
