On the afternoon of December 17, the People's Committee of Tien Thanh Ward (Lam Dong Province) said that it had worked with the owner of T.T gas station after a clip was circulated on social media recording a customer being withdrawn from gasoline because the employee did not accept payment by bank transfer.
According to the clip, a man drove a motorbike into the T.T. gas station to fill up with gas. After the staff had finished pumping gas, the customer requested payment by bank transfer.
However, the gasoline seller did not agree to receive payment by bank transfer. The two sides then had an argument.

Notably, the store employee used tools to pull all the gasoline that had just been pumped into the customer's truck and challenged the people to file a lawsuit. The clip was posted on social media, quickly attracting attention with many mixed opinions.
Many opinions say that, in the context of digital transformation being promoted, cashless payments are becoming more and more popular, refusing to transfer money is inappropriate.
In response to the public's stir, the leaders of the Department of Culture - Social Affairs and the Department of Economics, Infrastructure and Urban Areas under the People's Committee of Tien Thanh Ward directly worked with the owner of the T.T gas station to clarify the incident. At the meeting, the store owner confirmed that the above clip occurred at the store.
The gas station owner said that the store had informed the staff to accept payment in both cash and bank transfer. However, due to shortcomings in employee management, employees have behaved disrespectfully towards customers and led to reactions on social networks.
The store owner has accepted the shortcomings, and at the same time organized a meeting with all employees to thoroughly grasp the receipt of payments in cash and bank transfers when customers pay. For the employee directly involved in the incident, the store has terminated the employment.
