On September 15, the People's Committee of Dien Bien province organized a scientific workshop on research and proposals to restore the Tran Temple at the A1 Hill relic site. The workshop was attended by researchers, scientists, experts from universities, research institutes, leaders of Dien Bien province and a number of departments, branches, etc.
Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Tran Quoc Cuong - Secretary of Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee said that recently, Dien Bien province has coordinated with a number of experts, scientists, domestic and foreign organizations to collect information, documents and materials related to the temple worshiping "Saint Tran" at Hill A1 which was previously destroyed by the French army.
At this workshop, Dien Bien province hopes to receive objective and scientific assessments as a basis for research and proposals to restore the Temple, contributing to adding to the local historical and cultural works...
In addition, the delegates attending the workshop also listened to reports and presented a number of documents and materials related to the process of collecting information related to Tran Temple at the A1 Hill relic, including 6 photos, and some information related to the characters and events in the photos.
In their presentations at the workshop, experts and researchers all agreed that there existed a cultural structure, the Temple of Saint Tran, on Hill A1. However, the location of the temple was not on the top of the hill but was likely to be on the south side of the hill, on the right side of the road leading to the present-day Hill A1 relic.
Experts also believe that the restoration of the Tran Dynasty Temple in Dien Bien is in line with the trend of cultural development in the current context; at the same time, they propose a model of temple architecture and a form of worship of Tran Dynasty in Dien Bien.
However, many delegates also said that it is necessary to supplement historical documents and find more authentic evidence about the existence and location of Tran Temple. In addition, delegates also said that it is necessary to consider restoring the Tran Temple at Hill A1 Relic or choosing another more suitable location...
