Infrastructure in Quang Tri is still backward, the economic scale is small, competitiveness is low, there is a lack of high-quality human resources, most of the enterprises are small and micro, attracting foreign investment (FDI) is still limited; the province's per capita income is also lower than the national average...
There are many difficulties, but the locality also has many potentials and advantages that are still untapped. For example, Quang Tri has a convenient transport infrastructure system that is being implemented with a system of roads, railways, waterways and soon an air route (in the future there will be a high-speed railway) to help the province connect North - South, East - West. In particular, Quang Tri has abundant clean energy sources, abundant green energy sources, and a lot of room for developing renewable energy sources. In addition, the area of unused land is abundant, although it is difficult to develop agriculture, it is an advantage for industrial development.
The province also has very diverse resources (iron, copper, gold, titanium, construction materials, gas reserves, oil with Bao Vang and Ken Bau gas fields...) to develop industries.
After a visit and work in Quang Tri province, at the national online conference to disseminate the Resolution of the 10th Central Committee Conference, 13th tenure, the General Secretary gave a speech lasting nearly 26 minutes, of which more than 4 minutes mentioned Quang Tri. The General Secretary told the 1.2 million party members attending the conference that Quang Tri has long been assessed and considered a poor province, but this locality has many conditions for development. The General Secretary listed the potentials and advantages in terms of transport infrastructure, clean energy and industrial development potential, then suggested "if I were an investor, I would choose Quang Tri".
Opportunity for Quang Tri province to rise.
In the spirit of creating conditions and providing maximum support to promote socio-economic development of Quang Tri province, General Secretary To Lam gave specific instructions and requested the Government Party Committee to direct the Government, ministries, central agencies and sectors to study and support the locality to remove bottlenecks and difficulties for Quang Tri.
Mr. Ha Sy Dong - Acting Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee - said that the locality will actively work and coordinate with central ministries and branches to effectively implement the directives; speed up the implementation progress of key projects, works, schemes, policies and mechanisms, especially the development contents of transport infrastructure, industrial zones, and energy that the General Secretary mentioned.
At the same time, the Conclusion of the Party Executive Committee Conference and the Resolution of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Council on the 2025 socio-economic development plan will be immediately implemented, combined with the implementation of the General Secretary's instructions; focusing on streamlining, improving the efficiency, effectiveness and efficiency of the organizational apparatus.
Quang Tri province will also review, adjust and supplement the investment promotion program based on the suggestions and instructions of the General Secretary; actively attract investment, support enterprises to enjoy preferential policies according to the Government's regulations; issue preferential policies and support of the locality. Pay attention to removing difficulties and obstacles, supporting investors in carrying out administrative procedures and implementing investment, construction and operation of projects.
