On January 21, Mr. Ha Sy Dong - Acting Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee confirmed that he had just sent an urgent document to relevant units, requesting the implementation of key traffic projects in the area.
Specifically, the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Transport, the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board and Quang Tri Airport Company Limited to promptly coordinate with central agencies to complete documents on local adjustments to the planning of Quang Tri Airport before January 25, 2025.
Similarly, the Departments of Transport, Planning and Investment, Justice and Finance continue to work closely with relevant ministries and branches to unify the draft report to submit to the Prime Minister on investment in the construction of National Highway 15D.
Regarding the Cam Lo - Lao Bao expressway project, the Provincial People's Committee requested the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board to closely coordinate with Son Hai Group Company Limited to complete the project proposal and report to the Prime Minister before January 25, 2025.
“I have requested relevant departments, agencies and units to quickly implement assigned tasks and coordinate synchronously to overcome difficulties, especially in issues related to law and resources. These efforts not only demonstrate political determination but also lay an important foundation for the province’s sustainable socio-economic development in the future,” said Mr. Ha Sy Dong.
With strong and close direction, Quang Tri expects key transport projects to soon come into operation, becoming a driving force for comprehensive development, affirming the province's position in the Central region and the whole country.
It is known that of the three key transport projects mentioned above, only the Quang Tri Airport project has started construction. This project is located in Gio Quang, Gio Hai and Gio Mai communes (Gio Linh district) with a scale of more than 265 hectares, with a total investment of more than 5,800 billion VND. It is expected that by July 2026, the project will be put into operation and use.
