Once expected to be a vital traffic axis and a source of pride for Can Tho people, Vo Van Kiet route (with the starting point at the Nguyen Van Cu - Mau Than intersection, the end point is Can Tho International Airport) is facing deterioration after 13 years of use.

According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, the asphalt pavement was peeling in many locations, with potholes and gravel scattered everywhere. Even a knife was found in the middle of the hole, posing a high risk of traffic accidents.
Observations show that even in the area near Hung Can Tho King Temple, it is inevitable that the road surface will peel off.

Notably, there are signs of subsidence at the Rach Chanh bridge abutment, and the expansion joints are also severely damaged.
Regularly traveling through this route to work twice a day, Ms. T.A (Thoi An Dong ward, Can Tho city) said that when it is sunny in the morning, she can still recognize where there are potholes or peeling road surfaces to avoid. But when it rains, some sections of the road are flooded, it is easy to avoid them, it is easy to have the wheels derailed and fall.

Mr. Huynh Tan (Binh Thuy ward, Can Tho city) said that this is one of the most beautiful roads in Can Tho because it is wide and straight. In particular, it is the main gateway for international and domestic tourists to travel from Can Tho International Airport to the city center and to neighboring provinces.
Therefore, Mr. Huynh Tan hopes that the route management unit will have the earliest solution so that people can travel to ensure traffic safety and leave a good impression on tourists when coming to Can Tho.
Vo Van Kiet Street has a total investment of VND 1,851 billion from the Government Bond capital. Started in 2007 and opened to traffic in 2012, the route is 6.9 km long and 50 m wide.
