According to local people's feedback, for many years, the WB2 commune road connecting Cam Giang district, Hai Duong province to Luong Tai district, Bac Ninh province, especially the section passing through Kim Doi village, Cam Hoang commune, has been in a state of serious degradation and damage.
According to Lao Dong's report on November 14, many locations on the WB2 commune road passing through Kim Doi village, Cam Hoang commune have peeling, uneven road surfaces, with many large and small potholes, making people's movement extremely difficult and posing a potential risk of traffic accidents.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Trung (residing in Kim Doi village, Cam Hoang commune) said that for many years now, the road surface has been seriously damaged. During the rainy season, when rainwater accumulates, it makes the potholes difficult to see, easily causing accidents. On sunny days, the dust flies so thickly that people have to cover their eyes when going out.
“People have repeatedly petitioned authorities at all levels with the hope of upgrading the road soon. Renovating and expanding the road will make people’s travel safer,” Mr. Trung added.
Ms. Vu Thi Na (residing in Kim Doi village, Cam Hoang commune) was upset that every day, this road receives a large number of vehicles, including students. The current damaged road not only causes many inconveniences, but also poses a great risk of accidents.
“The local government has a policy of calling for land donations to upgrade and expand the road. The villagers are very supportive. However, the villagers also hope that the Commune People's Committee will have a plan to support the families who donate land to repair and rebuild the surrounding walls of their houses,” said Ms. Na.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Thang - Chairman of Cam Hoang Commune People's Committee said that before 2018, WB2 route passing through Kim Doi village, Cam Hoang commune, Cam Giang district was 2.6km long, 3m wide and under the management of Cam Giang district but was later handed over to Cam Hoang commune for management.
As a vital route, every day a large number of people and vehicles travel between Luong Tai district, Bac Ninh, and Hai Duong. After many years of use, the route has now deteriorated.
Due to the commune government's failure to auction land for a long time, which limited funding, each year the locality can only implement temporary solutions by leveling the road surface, pouring gravel and making rudimentary repairs, which cannot ensure safe and long-term traffic.
“The People’s Committee of Cam Hoang commune has a policy of calling on people from Kim Doi village to donate land to widen the road and has received support from 90% of the people. Currently, the commune has renovated and repaired 200m of WB2 road through Kim Doi village and plans to renovate another 700m by the end of the year. At the same time, the locality has also asked for support from the People’s Committee of Cam Giang district for 50% of the cost to upgrade the entire road,” Mr. Thang added.
