Ho Chi Minh City - The incident of chain breakage and steel coil falling from a container truck caused traffic congestion through Vo Chi Cong street area.

Today (April 2), an incident occurred on Vo Chi Cong street (Cat Lai ward), when a steel coil on a tractor-trailer fell down, causing traffic obstruction, causing many vehicles to line up in a row.

Initial information, at about 8:30 am on the same day, a 40-foot container truck carrying 3 steel coils was traveling on Vo Chi Cong street, heading from My Thuy intersection (Cat Lai ward) to Phu My bridge. When arriving at Phu My toll station (Cat Lai ward), the steel coil on the truck suddenly broke its chain, fell towards the toll station cabin, breaking many steel pillars, fortunately there were no casualties.

Toll lanes had to be temporarily closed to handle the scene, causing traffic congestion.

Because this is the main road connecting Cat Lai port and the port cluster in the south of Ho Chi Minh City, there is a large number of trucks and containers. The incident caused vehicles to line up from My Thuy intersection to Phu My toll station.

Traffic police have arrived to handle the scene and divert traffic to reduce traffic jams.
