Recorded at around 8:00 a.m. on June 9, at the parallel road of Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway (through Thu Duc City), a long line of motorbikes moved slowly, causing serious congestion at the An Phu intersection.
A long line of motorbikes and cars crowded together and moved slowly on the parallel road. The authorities were present to direct traffic, but the traffic volume was too large, causing prolonged traffic congestion not only at the intersection but also spreading to neighboring roads such as Mai Chi Tho and Luong Dinh Cua.

The reason is that the ban on motorbikes from entering the expressway access road from An Phu intersection to Vo Chi Cong Street, which began to be applied from June 7.
In addition, according to records, at the An Phu intersection, many items are being constructed, with lots and fences occupying the road surface, causing the traffic area to narrow, further increasing traffic pressure.

According to the Road Traffic Infrastructure Management Center (under the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction), the ban on motorbikes is to ensure safety when the parallel route on the right side of the expressway has been completed and is in stable operation. The center has also installed signs and instructions for the alternative route including: Vo Chi Cong - Nguyen Duy Trinh - Do Xuan Hop - expressway parallel road - Mai Chi Tho, and vice versa.
Along with that, Ho Chi Minh City is implementing a project to expand the road from An Phu intersection to Ring Road 2 (Thu Duc City), 3.2km long, with a total investment of 915 billion VND. This route will be upgraded to 8 lanes, 36m wide, contributing to relieving traffic pressure at the eastern gateway of the city in the future.
