On June 9, a serious accident occurred on Provincial Road 8 (through Phuoc Vinh An Commune, Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City), causing the mother and child to die on the spot.
According to initial information, at around 12:00, Mr. T.N.H (44 years old) was driving a motorbike carrying his wife, Ms. T.T.N. (38 years old) and his son (8 years old), moving in the direction from Cu Chi overpass to Binh Duong. When approaching the intersection with Nguyen Thi Lang Street, the motorbike collided with a tractor-trailer traveling in the same direction.
The collision caused Ms. N. and her son to die on the spot. The motorbike was severely damaged and was between two lanes.
Ms. Thao, a resident living near the scene, said that the motorbike was moving in front when it turned left onto the road and collided.
The accident caused serious traffic congestion on Provincial Road 8 - Northwest gateway of Ho Chi Minh City. Immediately afterwards, the Traffic Police quickly arrived to handle the scene, regulate and divert traffic to limit prolonged traffic jams.
The cause of the accident is being further investigated and clarified by the authorities.
