At about 12:50 on December 10, at the access road to the Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway, near Xom Xec Bridge, bordering Nghia Giang and Nghia Hanh communes (Quang Ngai), a serious traffic accident occurred.
At the time of the accident, two young men were riding a motorbike together, traveling at high speed on National Highway 24, from the center of Quang Ngai province to the western communes of the province.
The motorbike driver ran a red light and collided strongly with a truck with license plate 76A-288.XX. The truck also moved at high speed, leading to a serious collision.
The collision caused the driver of truck 76A-288.XX to lose control and continue to strongly collide with another truck with license plate 29H-815.XX traveling in the opposite direction.
Mr. Vo Tran Khoa (25 years old) - driver of truck 29H-815.XX - said that at the time of the incident, his vehicle was traveling in the North - South direction on the road leading to the Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway at a slow speed when it suddenly collided. The truck 76A-288.XX and the motorbike, after the initial collision, continued to crash into his vehicle, causing serious consequences.
At the scene, the body of one of the two victims was trapped under the truck 29H-815.XX. The motorbike was towed about 5m from the accident site and was under the truck 76A-288.XX.
The accident caused one person to die on the spot, the other person was quickly taken to the emergency room by local people. It is known that the deceased victim was a resident of Minh Long commune, Quang Ngai province.
Immediately after the incident, the authorities were present at the scene to investigate and clarify the cause of the accident.
