Vietnam International Defence Expo 2024 officially opened on the morning of December 19 and will last for 4 days, until December 22.
At this exhibition, Air Brigade 918 (Air Defense - Air Force) brought to the outdoor display area the EADS CASA C-295 aircraft. This is the largest and most modern transport aircraft of the Vietnam Air Force at the present time.
The EADS CASA C-295 aircraft is 24,495m long, has a wingspan of 25,810m, and a height of 8,663m. This transport aircraft has a maximum speed of up to 454km/h, can carry a maximum of 23.2 tons and transport 71 people.
The C-295 is used for short and medium-range military transport. The cargo hold and rear doors allow for the transport of many types of goods and equipment for different missions such as: transporting troops, transporting goods, dropping paratroopers, dropping goods, patrolling, ambulance...
The EADS CASA C-295 is a twin-engine tactical transport aircraft manufactured at Airbus's plant in Spain, serving in the armies of 30 countries.
The C-295 is currently the most modern transport aircraft in the Vietnam Air Force. To serve the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory, the 918th Air Brigade deployed the C-295 transport aircraft to transport troops and equipment from Hanoi to Dien Bien City. At this exhibition, the C-295 transported many large-sized equipment and weapons to Gia Lam airport for display.
The EADS CASA C-295 aircraft at the exhibition attracted the interest and attention of many visitors.
