The National Election Council has information about ensuring voting rights for voters.
Accordingly, there are cases where voters register for permanent residence in the locality but go to work and study in other localities, how is the election of these people?.
Regarding this content, the National Election Council said that in cases where voters have registered permanent residence in the locality, if they have completed procedures to declare temporary absence, they are considered not to have permanent residence in the locality.
The commune-level People's Committee at the place where the citizen registers permanent residence does not include that citizen's name in the voter list.
In this case, citizens have the right to register to be named in the voter list at their place of temporary residence and exercise the right to vote at their place of temporary residence.
In case voters return to their permanent residence within the period from after the voter list has been posted to 24 hours before the voting start time, they should go to the commune-level People's Committee where they register their permanent residence to request to be added to the voter list and receive Voter Cards to elect National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at the provincial and commune levels.
For cases where citizens have registered permanent residence in the locality but have not yet completed temporary absence declaration procedures, even if they have been absent for a long time in reality, the commune-level People's Committee still has to record that citizen's name on the voter list so that they can exercise their right to vote in the locality.
Except in cases where the voter or relatives of that voter have notified the voter's wishes not to participate in voting at their permanent residence. At the same time, appropriate information measures are needed to let voters know about the listing of voters and exercising their voting rights.
