Although it is in the peak construction phase, the Ring Road 2.5 project section passing through Cau Giay ward and Yen Hoa ward, Hanoi City is still facing site clearance problems, causing the goal of completion in 2026 to face the risk of delay.
The Ring Road 2.5 project is a key project, expected to reduce traffic pressure for the western area of the Capital. After the groundbreaking ceremony on March 20, 2026, contractors simultaneously mobilized machinery and manpower to implement important items before the rainy and storm season.

However, in the section passing through the new urban area of Dich Vong - Duong Dinh Nghe (0.71km long), construction activities are currently only concentrated in locations with cleared ground. According to research, the construction unit has only excavated the foundation of the drainage system along about 200m and installed protective corrugated iron fences.
Notably, due to problems in site clearance, construction is falling into a "slow-moving" situation. Many sections of the route are interrupted by temporary houses and corrugated iron houses that have not been relocated, making it impossible for machinery to access to dig roads or install drainage systems.

Talking to reporters, a representative of Song Hong Joint Stock Company (the construction contractor) said that although the route section is only 710m long, so far the unit has only been handed over about 400m. The remaining 300m is still entangled in the cemetery area and people's houses have not been relocated.
Talking to a reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Vu Trung Kien - Head of the Economic and Urban Infrastructure Department of Cau Giay ward said that the area managed by the ward has basically completed site clearance and is being handed over to the construction unit. "The ward focuses on deploying work, regardless of Saturday or Sunday. Currently, the work is being carried out in a "rolling" manner, both site clearance and handover for construction," Mr. Kien said.
Reality shows that at locations adjacent to Duong Dinh Nghe street, the ground has not been cleared, causing the project to be stalled. Meanwhile, in the opposite direction of Cau Giay street, although the ground is basically completed, the overall infrastructure connection still faces difficulties due to lack of synchronization.
If the site is handed over in early May 2026, we will mobilize maximum manpower to compensate for the progress. Conversely, if the handover continues to be delayed, the goal of completing the project of more than 8,400 billion VND in 2026 will be very difficult to achieve," said the contractor representative.
