This morning (September 15), at Noi Bai International Airport, Mr. Vu Xuan Thanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention, representing the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) - received aid from Mr. Ito Naoki - Embassy of Japan and Sugano Yuichi - Chief Representative of the Office of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Vietnam.
Accordingly, the aid shipment including 40 water purifiers and 200 multi-purpose plastic tarpaulins with a total value of 124,096 USD (equivalent to more than 3.05 billion VND) will be delivered to Yen Bai province on September 15 to promptly distribute to people affected by storms and floods.
Previously, from September 11 to September 14, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development received 1 aid shipment from the Australian Government and 3 shipments from the ASEAN Regional Coordination Centre for Humanitarian Assistance in Disaster Management to Yen Bai and Lao Cai provinces.
Up to now, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has mobilized and received attention from 10 embassies and 16 international organizations with a commitment to support 160 tons of goods via air through the Ministry. The goods arriving at Noi Bai airport have been and will be transported directly to Yen Bai, Lao Cai and Cao Bang provinces to promptly distribute to people affected by storms and floods.
