On the afternoon of June 23, the People's Committee of Kien Giang province and the People's Committee of An Giang province coordinated to organize a meeting to listen to reports and review the arrangement of working headquarters, means of transportation, accommodation and other conditions to ensure the operation from July 1 of the system of Party agencies, authorities and organizations subject to merger of the two provinces.
According to the project to merge An Giang and Kien Giang, named An Giang, the political - administrative center is located in Kien Giang province.
The Department of Finance of Kien Giang province said that based on the approved review and arrangement plan for arranging and handling houses and land, existing housing funds, public land, and headquarters in Kien Giang province, the working headquarters of provincial-level agencies when merging the two provinces will basically meet the requirements of enough workplaces. However, it needs to be renovated and repaired to meet the requirements. For machinery, equipment, desks and chairs, existing assets will be used.
For the Provincial Party Committee Office, the Internal Affairs Committee, the Inspection Committee, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee, the Organizing Committee and the Provincial Party Committee Guest House: When merging the two provinces, the total number of cadres, civil servants and workers from An Giang working during the first period was 224 people. The location at the headquarters is currently at 645 Nguyen Trung Truc, An Hoa Ward, Rach Gia City.
For the state management block and public service units under the Provincial People's Committee, out of a total of 27 agencies and units when merging provinces, 14 agencies will use existing headquarters for arrangement and 13 agencies and units will have to arrange additional headquarters.
For the Provincial People's Committee Office, use the head office at No. 6 Nguyen Cong Tru, Vinh Thanh Ward, Rach Gia City, Kien Giang Province; arrange at No. 4 Nguyen Cong Tru, Vinh Thanh Ward, Rach Gia City, Kien Giang Province (headquarters of the Children's House).
According to Notice No. 2345-TB/TU, dated June 19, 2025 on the Conclusion of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on the support regime for cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers after implementing the arrangement of administrative units. Accordingly, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee has agreed on the support level for travel costs, living expenses, and accommodation with a maximum support level of 5.5 million VND/person/month for 2 years for cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers affected by the merger of Kien Giang and An Giang provinces.
There are 2,228 cadres, civil servants and public employees from An Giang to Kien Giang working with housing needs, of which 903 cases have registered for official housing, the rest have a need to rent houses. Accordingly, Kien Giang province has developed and proposed 3 options for arranging public housing and renting housing for cadres, civil servants and public employees after the merger.
In order to limit traveling by private vehicles that cause traffic pressure and cost, the departments proposed a plan to organize an electric bus route to support travel for cadres, civil servants and public employees of the two provinces after the merger.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Van Phuoc suggested that the departments and branches of An Giang province quickly review the actual number of housing and vehicle needs of cadres, civil servants and public employees working from An Giang to Kien Giang to have the most favorable coordination and arrangement plan; approve the proposal to allocate support funds for cadres, civil servants and public employees.
Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong emphasized that departments and branches urgently review headquarters and workplaces, and arrange sufficient technical equipment to work normally when merging provinces. If there is a shortage, after July 1, continue to invest additional.
Assign the Department of Finance to continue to complete the report content and data in accordance with reality; review and have a plan to handle surplus assets; coordinate with relevant departments and branches to urgently complete the reports of the two provinces on finance, public investment, socio-economic development plans, etc.
Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong requested departments and branches to transport, manage documents and store them in a strict and digital manner, in accordance with regulations, especially confidential documents, to store them strictly, not to let them be lost. After July 1, the Provincial People's Council will soon issue a support policy for cadres, civil servants, and public employees to travel and stay.
