On September 9, Vinh Long province organized a workshop to contribute opinions on the draft Resolution of the Provincial Party Committee on developing high-quality human resources for the period 2025-2030, with orientations to 2045.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Tran Tri Quang - Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the workshop not only discusses how many more people to be trained, but also deeply the quality of people and competitiveness.
Mr. Tran Tri Quang believes that people, knowledge, science - technology and innovation capacity determine long-term competitive advantages, especially in Vinh Long's new development space.
From there, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee proposed changing the view of human resources, not only training to have jobs but also aiming to master technology, improve productivity, and create new value.
At the workshop, delegates approved the introductory report on the development of high-quality human resources in Vinh Long province in the period 2025-2030, with orientations to 2045; and listened to presentations and comments on the draft Resolution.
The introductory report emphasized the current situation of the total labor force of the province reaching about 2.1 million people. The province sets a target by 2030 to increase the rate of trained workers to 76%, with degrees and certificates reaching 40%.
The report content also orients the 2025-2030 period to focus on training high-quality human resources for the processing industry, marine economy, high-tech agriculture, digital transformation and modern logistics services.
The draft identifies the demand for high-quality human resources in science, technology, innovation and digital transformation to 2030 as 20,783 people. Education sets a target of training 6,324 masters and 68 doctors.
Speaking to direct, Mr. Tran Van Lau - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Vinh Long province - requested to fully absorb opinions and complete the draft with clear and practical targets.
Mr. Tran Van Lau requested to review high-quality human resources in each industry, field, and locality with needs, as a basis for coordinating training, attracting talents, and meeting the labor market.
The conference agreed that developing high-quality human resources is a key and breakthrough task, requiring the participation of the entire political system and society, towards Vinh Long to develop rapidly and modernly by 2045.
