Vinh Long inspects the incident of tilting 13 pillars of Thanh Hai 1 wind power transmission line

Vinh Long - Department of Industry and Trade inspects the incident of tilting 13 wind power transmission lines, proposing to switch from "floating cables" to "underground cables" to ensure safety.

On the morning of August 12, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Vinh Long province - said that he had sent a working group to inspect the scene of the incident of a number of 22kV power line pillars connecting Thanh Hai 1 Wind Power Plant (Thanh Hai commune), invested by Tan Hoan Cau Ben Tre Joint Stock Company.

The Department of Industry and Trade of Vinh Long province recommends that investors study changing the current power transmission plan from the wind power tower to the shore in the direction of "floating cables" to "underground cables" to both ensure safety and ensure the aesthetics of the sea area.

According to the report, the incident occurred at 4:00 p.m. on August 9. At that time, due to weather changes, strong winds suddenly while the operation team was conducting maintenance work, pulled a section of the fiber optic cable below.

During the process of pulling the rope, the storm suddenly strengthened, causing the ship to gust strongly, stretching the rope, combined with strong winds that shook and tilted the pole at pillar 12 - Thanh Hai 1. The pillars are connected by a cable, so when the 12 pillars fall outwards, they will be dragged and poured from position 11 to the connection position on the bank (location 0).

When the incident occurred, it did not affect people or vehicles. The power system is equipped with an electrical safety monitoring system and automatic protection against the central control room and turbine pillars, so when the pole is tilted, the system automatically jumps the protective cutter (instantly stops all power sources).

According to statistics, the total number of broken pillars includes 11 pillars at sea and 2 pillars on the shore. According to the investor, the tilting occurring at some line locations only temporarily affects the operation of the factory's internal transmission line.

Currently, the unit is planning to continue maintaining the factory before the upcoming rainy and wind season.
