On June 5, Ben Tre Solid Waste Treatment Joint Stock Company under AMACCAO Group held the groundbreaking ceremony of the Solid Waste Incineration Plant Project in Phu Tan ward, Vinh Long province.
The project is being implemented in the context that Vinh Long is focusing all resources to transform the domestic waste treatment model towards modern, closed and environmentally friendly. Currently, the locality receives about 1,310 tons of waste of all kinds every day, while the rate of treatment by landfill method still accounts for 95.3%.
According to Mr. Nguyen Quynh Thien - Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee, the traditional burial method has revealed many limitations such as land fund consumption, potential risk of groundwater pollution and emissions that affect the environment.
To fundamentally solve the waste problem, the province decided to invest in a solid waste incineration plant to generate electricity in Phu Tan ward. The project is invested by Ben Tre Solid Waste Treatment Joint Stock Company under AMACCAO Group, with a total capital of nearly 1,919 billion VND, expected to contribute to improving waste treatment efficiency, reducing landfill rates and promoting circular economy development in the area.

Sharing about the direction, Mr. Nguyen Ha - Deputy General Director of AMACCAO Group said that the unit is committed to implementing the project to meet international standards. Specifically, the enterprise focuses all resources to complete the project construction investment in the fourth quarter of 2027 and officially put the factory into operation, starting to receive waste from the first quarter of 2028.
Mr. Nguyen Ha emphasized three major commitments on applying modern digital technology, building aesthetic landscapes and absolutely safe construction. The enterprise affirmed that it always maintains the principle of seriousness, drastic action, and focuses on finding the best solutions to fulfill all commitments.
The project owns a treatment scale of 650 tons of domestic waste per day and night, and at the same time combines power generation to achieve a designed capacity of 13 MW. The plant applies advanced Martin technology from Germany, ensuring that all emission targets meet European standards and wastewater meet Column A.
The project is expected to completely change the face of the environment, helping people around escape living with landfills.

Witnessing his homeland's renovation, Mr. Phan Thanh Ngoc Chau - one of the people who was happy and excited, said he was extremely proud.
Mr. Chau shared that for a long time, the old landfill has always been a big nightmare for people because of the strong stench that floods into houses every time the weather changes. Therefore, households all highly agree and look forward to the advanced closed waste burning technology of Europe to soon completely eliminate pollution.
Hopefully, when the project is completed, there will be no more scenes of smoke, dust, and black leachate seeping into the ground, affecting health," Mr. Chau added.
Sharing the same expectation, Mr. Tran Van Rot also said that changing to modern waste treatment technology is a long-held desire of the people. People are ready to accompany and create the most favorable conditions for the investor to quickly deploy the construction of the project.
Everyone hopes that the new factory will go into operation on schedule, free up land for burial to re-establish green space. "The factory not only restores a fresh and safe environment but also improves the quality of life for future generations," Mr. Rot expressed hope for the factory.
