On October 12, according to a source from Lao Dong Newspaper, the mud tank of the Alloy Steel Plant (investor is Thai Nguyen Black Metallurgy Joint Stock Company) with a capacity of 100,000 tons/year in Nam Hoa commune had a dam break.
According to the reporter's records in mid-October 2025, the reservoir area is located on the hillside, at the scene of thick mud covering many areas of cultivated land, fish ponds, giving off a strong, black smell.

Local people said the incident occurred on the morning of October 7, when they discovered mud from the reservoir area overflowing.
The thick mud flooded down the flow into the residential area, burying the roads, gardens and fish ponds of dozens of households in Goc Thi and Ao Sen hamlets.


Initial statistics show that the incident has affected more than 30 households in terms of property and garden area, some areas are still deeply submerged in mud.
Information from Thai Nguyen Black Kim District Joint Stock Company, immediately after the incident, the unit mobilized people and machinery to clean up mud and soil.
Currently, the unit has filled the broken area, continued to reinforce the embankment and organized the cleaning of the downstream area while coordinating with the authorities to handle and count the damage.
