Dak Lak - A 44-year-old domestic elephant in the area has just died for unknown reasons.

On May 19, the Dak Lak Elephant Conservation, Animal Rescue and Forest Protection Management Center said that a domestic elephant had just died for unknown reasons.

According to initial information, at about 9 am on May 18, Mr. Y Lit Ksor - elephant owner and elephant rider - came to visit and discovered that elephant P Lang (44 years old) had died, so he reported it to the Elephant Conservation Center.

At about 2 pm on the same day, functional agencies were present at the scene to inspect and verify the cause of the death of elephant P Lang.

At the time of inspection, the weather was dry, with sufficient light, and the parts of the elephant's body were intact. Functional agencies have not detected any traces of external force impacting the elephant's body. The area around where the elephant died also showed no signs of drooping or other unusual signs.

Through initial inspection, functional agencies concluded that P Lang elephant died for unknown reasons, and no signs of human or external force impact were detected.

According to verification, the location where elephant P Lang died is adjacent to the forest area of the Elephant Conservation Center. This is a male elephant, with 2 tusks, weighing about 4.6 tons and was contracted to be raised at the Center from January 2026 to serve the conservation model, not exploiting elephant riding tourism.
