On January 26, Kbang District Police said they had found the body of a little girl on the Ba River, passing through Dong Commune. The victim was D.T.L.
Authorities continued to mobilize dozens of people to expand the search area.
Previously, at noon on January 23, the People's Committee of Dong commune, Kbang district received a report that two sisters, D.T.L (12 years old) and D.V.L (8 years old, residing in Dak Giang 2 village, Dong commune) were missing.
According to Mr. Dinh Ban (the biological father of the two victims), on January 23, he woke up and did not see his children. He thought they were playing in the village so he went to the fields to weed and plant trees.
On the afternoon of January 24, Mr. Ban returned from the field and still did not see the two sisters at home, so he reported the disappearance to the People's Committee of Dong commune.
The commune authorities suspected that the children had drowned while bathing in the river or stream and were missing, so they mobilized more than 60 people to search for them.
