On the morning of December 27, hearing the news that the car carrying the charity delegation had an accident, many teachers of Hoa Mi Kindergarten (Phinh Ho commune, Lao Cai province) rushed to the scene.
In front of the teachers was a scene that made everyone silent: a 29-seater car crumpled, many parts of the body deformed; belongings, clothes and necessities to give to students scattered all over the roadside.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Tong Thi Van - Vice Principal of Hoa Mi Kindergarten could not hold back tears, choked up: According to the route, the volunteer delegation moved from Hanoi City at 1 am on December 27th, 6:30 am to Hanh Phuc commune center for breakfast.
At about 6:45 am, the delegation continued to move to Ta Genh school site to give gifts and cook.
Through exchange, this is a group of individuals who voluntarily donated clothes, blankets and food to support students with a total gift value of about 40 million VND.

The school has 105 students, all children of ethnic minorities, in difficult circumstances. The children were informed in advance by teachers that a delegation would come to visit, everyone has been excited for many days now.
It was expected that the delegation would arrive at about 9:30 am, but unfortunately encountered an accident halfway (about 3km from the school). The day before, Mr. Phung Manh Quan - the group leader contacted the school and forwarded gifts first. While the whole school was eagerly waiting, unexpectedly such a painful incident happened," Ms. Tong Thi Van said sadly.

As Lao Dong Newspaper reported, on the morning of December 27, a charity group of 18 people (including the driver, Mr. Do Dang Thinh, born in 1960, address Thanh Xuan, Hanoi) traveled by passenger car with license plate 29B-614.06 from Hanoi to Ta Genh village school point belonging to Hoa Mi Kindergarten, Phinh Ho commune.
At about 7:40 am, at km35 of the road connecting National Highway 32 with Provincial Road 174 (belonging to Mu Thap village, Phinh Ho commune), it collided with a guardrail (wire roller) about 50m, leading to the vehicle overturning on the right side of the road in the direction of Hanh Phuc commune to Phinh Ho commune.


The incident killed 9 people, including 8 victims who died on the spot and 1 person who did not survive on the way to the hospital.
According to leaders of the Lao Cai Provincial Department of Health, by 2:30 PM, all 9 injured patients had received first aid and were taken to the Central Hospital for treatment. Among them, 8 people were treated at Viet Duc Hospital and 1 person was treated at Bach Mai Hospital.
