On the afternoon of January 2, the People's Committee of Dak Glei district, Kon Tum province, said that authorities had found the bodies of two workers missing due to the accident.

Another body was found in Dak Mi stream, about 50 meters from the hydroelectric dam under construction. Because the stream water was flowing strongly, authorities had to use motorbikes to dig through the stream to help bring the body to shore.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, at around 3:00 a.m. on December 31, 5 workers were constructing a spillway project pouring concrete. Unfortunately, all 5 people had an accident when the scaffolding collapsed and they fell into a deep water hole, buried by rocks and concrete blocks.
Authorities initially recovered three bodies and had to clear the way to bring in a pump to drain the hole in order to search for the remaining two missing workers.
Regarding this serious accident, forces from the Institute of Criminal Science (Ministry of Public Security) and the State Appraisal Department of Construction Quality (Ministry of Construction) arrived at the scene to assist in the investigation.
The competent authority accesses the project documents and works with relevant parties such as supervision consultants, investors, and contractors. At the same time, collects documents and contractor capacity records; takes samples of input materials such as concrete and steel, and determines the cause of the incident.
Dak Mi 1 Hydropower Plant has a capacity of 84 MW located in Dak Choong commune, Dak Glei district, the project has a total investment of more than 3,500 billion VND.
When the accident occurred, the Dak Mi 1 Hydropower Project Management Board coordinated with local authorities and contractors to focus all resources on urgent and active search and rescue.
The unit has supported each victim's family with 100 million VND to take care of burial procedures according to regulations. During the construction process, the Hydropower Project Management Board has thoroughly informed and reminded contractors and workers at the construction site to ensure occupational safety.
