Determining the cause of the 3-truck pile-up in Binh Dinh

Binh Dinh - An accident between 3 trucks occurred on the National Highway 1A bypass. Authorities determined that the truck driver was driving in the wrong lane, causing the accident.

On February 12, the Traffic Police Department of Binh Dinh Province reported an accident involving three trucks on the National Highway 1A bypass through An Nhon town (Binh Dinh) on the evening of February 11, injuring four people.

Previously, at around 7:00 p.m. on February 11, on the National Highway 1A bypass through Nhon An commune, an accident occurred between truck with license plate 51C-444.00 driven by Huynh Tan Dien (born in 1994, residing in Phu Yen province), with Le Van Trinh (born in 1988, residing in Quang Ngai province); truck with license plate 92H-014.08 driven by Nguyen Dinh Dung (born in 1990), with Nguyen Hoang Trung (born in 1990), both residing in Lam Dong province; and truck with license plate 75C-047.14 driven by Tran Dinh Ngoc (born in 1990), with Tran Cong Hung (born in 1980), both residing in Quang Tri province.

The Traffic Police Department of Binh Dinh Province determined that the initial cause of the accident was that driver Huynh Tan Dien drove the truck in the wrong lane.

After testing, driver Tran Dinh Ngoc tested negative for alcohol and drugs. The Investigation Police Agency coordinated with Binh Dinh General Hospital to take samples for alcohol and drug testing of drivers Huynh Tan Dien and Nguyen Dinh Dung, and are currently awaiting results.

As Lao Dong reported, at around 7:00 p.m. the same day, in the National Highway 1A bypass area, through Trung Dinh village (Nhon An commune), an accident occurred between 3 trucks with license plates 75C-047.14, 51C-444.00 and 92H-014.08, injuring 4 people. At the scene, the front of the 3 trucks was severely damaged.

One person in the truck with license plate 75C-047.14 was trapped in the cabin and had to be rescued by the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police of Binh Dinh Province.
