Passenger car driver not paying attention to observation causes accident
On September 23, Gia Lai Provincial Police reported to the Ministry of Public Security Office about a traffic accident that occurred in An Nhon Bac ward, Gia Lai.
According to initial information, at about 4 am on the same day, at the intersection of National Highway 1 - National Highway 19B (Go Gang intersection, Tien Hoi residential group), sleeper bus BKS 77F-005. 42 of Bay Tau bus company, driven by Mr. Nguyen Van C. (born 1990, residing in Hoai Nhon ward), collided with motorbike BKS 77F2-0443 driven by Mr. Nguyen Dinh P. (born 1963, residing in An Nhon Bac ward).
After the collision, the passenger car driver steered and crashed into a taxi with license plate 60E-006.50 parked nearby and then overturned.
The accident killed Mr. P. and Ms. Bui Thi X. (born 1966, residing in Phu My Nam commune) - passengers on the passenger car - after being taken to An Nhon Medical Center for emergency treatment. 3 vehicles were damaged, property damage was about 95 million VND.
The police determined that the initial cause was that driver C. was driving the passenger car without paying attention to observation, causing a traffic accident.
Through inspection, driver C. had no alcohol concentration and was negative for drugs. Mr. P. also had no alcohol concentration.
The little child is safe in his mother's arms
In the afternoon of the same day, in an exchange with Lao Dong Newspaper, the leader of Gia Lai Provincial Central General Hospital said that the hospital received 5 victims in the accident for treatment. Currently, 2 people have been discharged from the hospital, and the remaining 3 people are continuing treatment.
Being treated at the hospital, Ms. Nguyen Thi S. (born in 1994, residing in Binh Dinh ward, Gia Lai province) is still in shock when recounting the accident.
Ms. S. said that she and her 2 children, N.N.K. L (born 2021) and N.N.G. H (born 2025), took a passenger car from Ho Chi Minh City to their home in Binh Long village, Phu My commune.
The accident occurred near dawn, most passengers on the bus had fallen asleep after a long journey. Ms. S. also hugged her young child and fell asleep. When the bus swayed, she panicked and opened her eyes, but the bus had already overturned.
I hugged my young child, so luckily my child was unharmed. When the car overturned, my leg broke, I couldn't move, I just hugged my child and lay there. The older child lying on another bed was also crushed. I heard my child crying loudly but couldn't help at all, it was very painful," Ms. S. recounted.
According to Ms. S., everything happened very quickly, no one had time to react. When the car rushed across the road and overturned, she knew the car had an accident. The driver and some people took her and her child out of the car to go to the emergency room. Ms. S. was determined to have a broken leg.
At the hospital, baby L. continuously cried and panicked. Doctors performed surgery to remove some glass and metal fragments stuck to her body after the accident. Baby H. only suffered skin injuries.
Another victim, Ms. V.T. X (born 1998, residing in Hoai Nhon Dong ward, Gia Lai), suffered spinal injury, fractures and is being examined and treated by doctors.
The remaining victims continue to be monitored and treated at the hospital.
