After that, the group returned to Song Hong hotel to rest. From 10:30 p.m. on the same day, there were scattered people in the group with stomach pain, vomiting, and loose stools. From 4:58 a.m. to 5:13 a.m. on July 21, 6/29 people with the above symptoms went to the emergency room and were treated at Bai Chay Hospital and were diagnosed with acute diarrhea and mild digestive disorders. By 8:45 a.m. on July 21, all patients were in stable health and were discharged from the hospital.
After investigating information from the patients, the interdisciplinary food hygiene and safety inspection team of Ha Long city came to Thien Huong 2 Restaurant. During the inspection process, the restaurant exported Present the certificate of facility meeting food safety conditions No. 244/2023/ATTP-UBND issued by Ha Long City People's Committee on November 3, 2023; There is a contract to buy and sell raw materials and food additives.
The restaurant's dining area has an area suitable for capacity, is airy, clean, and fully equipped with shelves and serving utensils; The processing area is equipped with shelves and food storage cabinets.
However, the restaurant cannot ensure the prevention of cross-contamination between unprocessed and processed foods in the kitchen layout; Failure to comply with the law on the 3-step authentication regime; Use people who directly prepare food without wearing hats, masks, or gloves when in direct contact with cooked food.
Regarding the incident where many people in the tourist group suffered from digestive disorders after having dinner at the restaurant, the restaurant has cabinets and tools to store food samples. However, for the dinner on July 20, the delegation from Cao Bang province ordered 18 meals for 29 people, the restaurant did not keep food samples (because meals with less than 30 meals according to regulations do not have to keep food samples). ). At the same time, at the time of inspection, the restaurant had no leftover food to serve the Cao Bang province delegation from the July 20 dinner. Therefore, the interdisciplinary inspection team could not take food samples for testing.
Based on the investigation, treatment and diagnosis process of Bai Chay Hospital, the treatment time is short, the symptoms of digestive disorders are mild. The city's interdisciplinary food hygiene and safety inspection team made a preliminary assessment of the case: Digestive disorder, suspected to be related to food, currently the cause has not been determined.
