King Le Thai To Temple in Le Loi Commune was built in the late 15th century, rebuilt in 1999 and ranked as a provincial relic in 2003.
Over the years, the Temple has deteriorated and its scale can no longer meet the cultural and religious needs of the people and tourists.
Realizing the Project "Ha Long - City of Festivals", along with 4 project clusters to restore and embellish relics in the area, including: Bai Tho Mountain Cultural Cluster, Duc Ong Tran Quoc Nghien Temple, in Hong Gai Ward; Ba Chua Temple, Bach Dang Ward; King Le Temple, Le Loi Commune; Lang Bang Communal House, Thong Nhat Commune have been invested in construction, Ha Long City decided to continue investing in the Project Cluster of King Le Thai To Temple Area (Le Loi Commune) with a total cost of about 599.3 billion VND, including 4 component projects.
In particular, the project of Restoration, embellishment, expansion and promotion of the value of the relic of King Le Thai To Temple has an area of about 1.67 hectares, costing about 211 billion VND, implemented with 100% from socialized capital with the Temple Management Board as the investor.
Up to now, the Campaign Committee has received over 83 billion VND from many organizations, individuals, and philanthropists inside and outside the province.
According to plan, the project is expected to be completed before the 26th Ha Long City Party Congress, term 2025-2030.
According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Son - Vice Chairman of Ha Long City People's Committee, Ha Long City and the Mobilization Committee for Social Resources hope to continue to receive support and donations from businesses, organizations, units, individuals, and philanthropists so that the project can be completed soon, meeting the cultural and religious needs of the people and tourists coming to Ha Long City. This is also in line with the orientation of heritage economic development, taking cultural and natural heritage as the foundation, resources, and driving force for growth, creating breakthroughs for development, enhancing local brand value, developing spiritual tourism products, and implementing the Project "Ha Long - Festival City".
