Building a memorial to martyr Nguyen Van Thac and his comrades

Quang Tri - The memorial complex for martyr Nguyen Van Thac and his comrades was built in Ai Tu commune with a total cost of 2.8 billion VND.

On September 12, in Nam Long village, Ai Tu commune, the Standing Committee of Quang Tri Provincial Youth Union in coordination with the Government Youth Union, Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) and local authorities organized the groundbreaking ceremony of the project "Memorial Area of Martyr Nguyen Van Thac and Comrades: Forever Twenty".

The project is built in the temple area, the place marking the initial sacrifice and burial of martyr Nguyen Van Thac and 3 comrades.

On an area of about 300m2, the project includes a memorial house; yard, greenery and landscape; main gate, fence, nameplate and auxiliary items. The campus also arranges signs introducing the life and ideals of martyr Nguyen Van Thac and the values from the diary "Forever twenty".

The total construction cost, worth 2.8 billion VND, is sponsored by Vietnam National Petroleum Group.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Tri province requested units to coordinate the project implementation in accordance with regulations, ensuring quality, progress, landscape and in accordance with historical and cultural values.

Ms. Tran Thi Thu - Secretary of Quang Tri Provincial Youth Union said that the project aims to build a space to express gratitude to martyr Nguyen Van Thac and his comrades, and at the same time contribute to educating tradition, living ideals and the spirit of dedication for the young generation.

The project is expected to be completed on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2027).
