Rescue vehicle pulling garbage truck collides with motorbike, young man dies on the spot

HCMC - A crane rescue vehicle carrying a garbage truck collided with a motorbike on Ha Huy Giap Street, causing a young man to die on the spot.

On the afternoon of August 1, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department coordinated with relevant units to examine the scene and investigate the traffic accident that killed a young man on Ha Huy Giap Street, Thanh Loc Ward.

Initial information, at around 2:30 p.m. the same day, a rescue vehicle with license plate 51E-0xxxx lifted a garbage truck traveling on Ha Huy Giap Street from Ga intersection to Phu Long bridge.

When reaching the intersection with TL22 road (Thanh Loc ward), the vehicle collided with a motorbike with license plate 83C1-5xxxx driven by a young man from Soc Trang, traveling in the same direction on the left side.

The collision caused the victim to fall onto the road and was run over by the garbage wheel, dying on the spot.

Notably, this garbage truck was involved in another accident that occurred on July 7, in Tan An Hoi commune (old Cu Chi district).On the afternoon of August 1, when the vehicle was being towed by a rescue vehicle, it continued to cause a fatal accident.

Ho Chi Minh City Police are investigating and clarifying the cause of the incident.
