According to information from the local government, at around 4:00 p.m. on July 31, the People's Committee of Hoa Bac commune received a report from the people about Ms. Mai Thi V (62 years old, residing in village 6, Hoa Bac commune, Lam Dong province) missing.
Immediately afterwards, the local authorities mobilized dozens of people from the forces to coordinate in implementing the search. The search was carried out from the time of receiving the information until overnight, but was still unable to find it.
Mrs. V has a son but is currently working in Ho Chi Minh City. Therefore, Mrs. V is living alone.
In Village 6 (Hoa Bac Commune), there is a stream. At the time of receiving the report of Ms. V's disappearance, there was heavy rain and strong water in the stream in Hoa Bac commune.
During the rainy season, the stream has an average depth of over 2 meters. However, there are places on the silted stream with water levels only about 0.5 meters. Along with that, before the time of her disappearance, she had to take medicine to treat her illness regularly.
After a period of searching, at around 9:10 a.m. on August 1, the authorities found Ms. V in the stream dead. The location where the victim's body was found was about 200m from Mr. My's iron bridge (village 6, Hoa Bac commune).
Currently, the incident is being investigated and clarified by the authorities.
