On August 25, Saigon Railway Joint Stock Company reported the accident at the barrier at km1661+074 of the North-South railway (in Dau Giay commune, Dong Nai province) that injured 2 people.
According to the report, at around 10:48 p.m. on August 24, at the level crossing at km1661+074 of the Long Khanh - Dau Giay section, 2 crossing guards Dang Thi Mai Len and Ho Thi Men closed the barrier to welcome the SE12 train running from Saigon to Hanoi when suddenly a motorbike driver with license plate 60H6-046.xx was running at high speed, without slowing down but still rushing towards the level crossing, hitting the No. 2 barrier directly, causing the barrier to fall off, causing obstacles to the train.
Immediately after the incident, Ho Thi Men's staff quickly sent an emergency signal to the train driver to stop the SE12.
Staff Dang Thi Mai Len and other traffic participants urgently cleared obstacles, brought the two victims (the motorbike driver and the person behind the motorbike) and the vehicle out of the cross-road.
After that, both staff continued to pick up and drop off train SE12 safely across the level crossing.
The cause of the incident is being investigated and handled by the authorities.
Previously, at 9:28 p.m. on August 22, at the Km1649+528 level crossing, along the Long Khanh road, the Long Khanh railway team (Dong Nai province), after the barrier was closed and preparing to pick up the SE4 train across the level crossing, suddenly a young man riding a motorbike with license plate 52F1-2xxx crashed straight into the No. 1 level crossing, causing the barrier to break and block the railway. Fortunately, two staff at the Km1649+528 barrier, Tran Thi Thuy and Vu Thi Dien, were quick-witted and brave, and with the help of the people, they handled the situation promptly, avoiding the unfortunate accident that could have occurred.
