At noon on June 20, at an intersection in Nam Thanh commune (Nam Dan district, Nghe An), a serious traffic accident occurred between a truck and a garbage truck with an environmental sign. The strong collision caused the front of the truck to stick deep into the side of the garbage truck, injuring both drivers and trapping them in the cabin.
Immediately after the accident, local people promptly approached the scene and used supports to open the cabin door to get the two drivers out. Both victims were then taken to the emergency room in a state of multiple injuries.
At the scene, the garbage truck was pushed to the side, the side of the vehicle was severely damaged, and debris was thrown in many directions. The intersection where the accident occurred was an intersection with high density of vehicles, but no traffic lights were installed.
The Nam Thanh commune government coordinated with the police force to be present to direct traffic, ensure traffic safety and clarify the cause of the incident.
