On the afternoon of November 20, the authorities of Tan Hiep district, Kien Giang province, said they had just completed handling the scene of a truck overturning down the slope of Tan Hiep bridge, on National Highway 80, in Tan Hiep town.
Initial information, at around 1:30 p.m. the same day, a male driver named N.D.T.G (born in 2002, permanent residence in Ho Chi Minh City) drove a truck with license plate 50H-070.xx carrying frozen goods on National Highway 80, from Ho Chi Minh City to Rach Gia City, Kien Giang Province.
When reaching the foot of Tan Hiep bridge, Tan Hiep town, the truck suddenly lost control, hit the railing, sign, bridge boundary post and overturned onto the riverbank.
Immediately after the incident, many people around the scene quickly approached and helped the driver out. Fortunately, at the time of the accident, there was relatively little traffic so there were no casualties. The area under the bridge was dirt so the truck did not fall into the river. The incident caused minor injuries to the driver. The front of the car was damaged, and oil leaked onto the road.
Upon receiving the news, Tan Hiep district authorities quickly arrived to regulate traffic and handle the scene. A crane was also mobilized to move the damaged truck.
