On August 22, Mr. Nguyen Cong Son - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ia Phi Commune (Gia Lai Province) - said that an accident had just occurred in the area, killing 18 cows of three households.
According to Mr. Son, immediately after the incident, the driver agreed to compensate three households, for a total of 305 million VND. The cause was determined to be that the truck lost its brakes and crashed into a herd of cows on the road.
Previously, at around 5:00 p.m. on August 21, a driver named Cuong (residing in Ia Chim commune, Quang Ngai province) was driving a truck with license plate 89C-05767 carrying an excavator, traveling from Ia Phi commune to Ia Chim commune. When reaching the inter-commune slope in Op village, Ia Phi commune, the vehicle suddenly lost its brakes and hit the herd of cows.
The driver compensated three households: Ro Cham Meoh household: 11 cows (140 million VND); Ro Cham leo household: 6 cows (160 million VND); Ro Cham Ngil household: 1 cow (5 million VND).
