On June 12, Lao Dong news source reported that the Standing Committee of Tay Son District Party Committee (Binh Dinh) is preparing to meet to give opinions on the conclusion on handling the responsibility of Mr. Ngo Luan - Chairman of Tay Giang Commune People's Committee, due to lax management, leading to illegal mineral exploitation in the area.
According to the leader of Tay Son District Party Committee, the District People's Committee has established a working group to verify and clarify the responsibilities of organizations and individuals related to the incident. Currently, the District Party Committee is waiting for the verification results report from the District People's Committee and is expected to meet in the next 1-2 days to consider and handle.
On the same day, the leader of Tay Son District People's Committee said that the temporary suspension period for Mr. Ngo Luan for 15 days has ended. However, because the locality must report the verification results to the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, the temporary suspension period will last for a few more days.
"After the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee has a conclusion, the locality will handle it according to its authority," informed the leader of the Tay Son District People's Committee.
Previously, on May 22, the People's Committee of Tay Son district issued a decision to temporarily suspend Mr. Ngo Luan from work for 15 days to review and clarify responsibilities related to illegal mineral exploitation activities in Tay Giang commune.
According to the People's Committee of Tay Son district, recently, people have continuously reported the illegal mineral exploitation in this commune. In response to the above reflection, the district has directed the People's Committee of Tay Giang commune to inspect, organize a review, and report the incident. However, the implementation process of the commune government was assessed as not serious and did not comply with the instructions.
During the surprise inspection, the authorities discovered at the scene traces of illegal mineral exploitation activities and mechanical means for exploitation.
"The temporary suspension of Mr. Ngo Luan is to ensure the verification process is objective and clear," said the leader of Tay Son District People's Committee.
The leader of Tay Son District People's Committee said that illegal mineral exploitation is currently broke out in the area, and it is necessary to promptly handle it to set an example and restore order in resource management.
