The Defense Command of Region 3 - Tra My coordinated with the engineering forces of the Da Nang City Military Command to safely handle a MK81 bomb weighing about 113kg that remained after the war, discovered in Tra Linh Dong village, Hiep Duc commune.
During the production process, people discovered a suspected bomb and quickly reported it to the local authorities, the Commune Military Command and the PTKV 3 - Tra My Command. Upon receiving the information, the City Military Command mobilized the engineering force to the scene to survey and determine the type, condition and level of danger to develop a handling plan.
Based on professional assessment, the forces completed administrative procedures, established a Destroyment Council, and trained additional bomb and mine handling teams. Specialized vehicles and safety equipment are also fully prepared. The engineering force coordinated with the PTKV 3 - Tra My Command Board, militia and police of Hiep Duc commune to dismantle, collect and transport the bomb to a safe area for detonation according to technical procedures.
According to the Da Nang City Military Command, the bomb was more than a meter long, had a great destructive power and a high level of damage if detonated. The timely detection and reporting of the people, along with the quick, close and professional intervention of the local armed forces, have eliminated the risk of insecurity, contributing to protecting people's lives and property.
