Nam Son Ward has important traffic routes such as: National Highway 5, National Highway 10, Provincial Road 351 and especially the Hanoi - Hai Phong railway with a length of about 3 km. Therefore, there are many intersections between the railway line and traffic routes: the intersection with Road 351 in Cach Thuong residential group (with fence), the intersection with the axis road of Cong My residential group (with fence), the intersection with Dong Da road in My Tranh residential group (no fence, with guards).
There is also a self-opened path (with warning signs in both directions) across the railway in May Da hamlet, My Tranh residential group. The self-opened path above is not licensed, without fences or barriers to ensure safety, posing a potential risk of serious railway traffic accidents, especially dangerous at night. Meanwhile, people are currently using this path regularly.
Through the work, the Traffic Police Department agreed with the local government to assign Nam Son Ward Police as the core force, coordinate with departments, organizations, and Vat Cach Station to deploy a security team to warn traffic participants every time a train passes. At the same time, thoroughly handle violations to ensure railway traffic safety, especially during the holidays of April 30 and May 1, and weekends to serve tourism. In particular, strengthening propaganda activities to people in the ward about traffic safety and order as well as railway traffic safety and order.
Previously, there were a number of incidents in Hai Phong City that caused unsafe railway traffic. Accordingly, on April 14, Hai Phong City Police fined Mr. M.D.D (born in 1973, residing in Cam Thuong Ward, Hai Duong City, Hai Duong Province) for entering a level crossing when the barrier was closed, risking a traffic accident at Km 84+458 in Le Thien Ward, An Duong District. Mr. D was fined 11 million VND and had his driving license revoked for 3 months.
On March 30, a truck carrying construction materials stopped close to the train in the railway corridor near the crossroads of Tran Nguyen Han in An Bien ward, Le Chan district, causing the train to stop for the truck to escape and continue to enter the station according to the roadmap. Functional forces sanctioning truck drivers for errors for road vehicles to violate the limit of the rail architecture limit specified at Point b, Clause 2, Article 49 of Decree No. 100/ND-CP amended and supplemented by Decree 123/ND-CP/2021, a fine of from 2-3 million VND.
